Quick Overview

Low pressure type 7 liner produced by the St Clair. It features smooth OD exterior paint and cotton suspension with steel A washers, early type leather chinstrap with green coated flat lever buckle and large yellow SC stamp in the dome. It has a rare black vinyl headband and cotton neck band.
T/5 chevrons were painted by hand on the front. The backside of the liner has the number 48 spray painted with a stencil. On several places the liner is marked with the name 'West' and 'private' on the front above the T/5 marking and again the number 48 below the marking.
This variation St Cllair liner is featured in my M-1 Helmet book (pages 160-161 of the 2007 Limited Edition and pages 168-169 of the 2010 Schiffer Edition). The rare vinyl headband is also featured in the book (pages 112-113 of the 2007 Limited Edition and pages 120-121 of the 2010 Schiffer Edition).
This is a superb piece for a collection plus it is featured in a book. The vinyl headband and leather chinstrap alone make up for half of the price of this gem! The liner has been in my collection for a long time but its time for a new home.

This is a liner from the collection.
