Quick Overview

Low pressure type 6 liner produced by the St Clair. The 'transitional' liner has smooth dark green paint, cotton suspension with six sets of snaps to take the early type rayon headband, steel A washers and early type leather chinstrap with green coated flat lever buckle. The front of the liner is adorned with beautifully handpainted Captain's bars. The liner is presented in my Limited Edition 2007 M-1 Helmet book on pages 158 - 159 and in the 2010 Schiffer Edition on pages 166-167 (see last two photos). The chinstrap is broken at one of the holders which it already was at the time of the writing of the book. Because it is original to the liner and overall in good shape it was never replaced (a correct replacement chinstrap is available for 100 euros). The liner has no yellow SC stamp and never seems to have had one. Some St Clair liners simply weren't marked. The liner is in excellent condition and 100% original, nothing added, nothing replaced. St Clair liners are quite difficult to find, especially this nice and all complete. As a bonus it is Captain marked and featured in a book!

This is a liner from the collection.
