St Clair liner

€ 275.00

Quick Overview

Low pressure type 3 liner produced by the St Clair. This rare transitional type features rayon suspension with steel A washers and early type leather chinstrap with green coated flat lever buckle and yellow SC stamp in the dome. The liner has a crack in the rear and it was repainted. Staff Sergeant chevrons were spray painted with a stencil on both sides. The rayon suspension is torn and the headband and neckband are no longer present. There is a faint laundry mark visible on the suspenion.
This rare variation St Cllair liner is featured in my M-1 Helmet book (pages 152-153 of the 2007 Limited Edition and pages 160-161 of the 2010 Schiffer Edition). Although the condition is in fair shape at best (priced accordingly) the rarity of this type warrants a place in a collection. This St Clair liner is the only one that I have ever seen of this type! It is still a nice piece for the collection plus it is featured in a book. The liner has been in my collection for a long time but its time for a new home.

This is a liner from the collection.
