M-1 helmet & Hawley liner, 1st Lieutenant

Quick Overview

McCord'fixed bail' steel shell with a type 3 fibre liner. The steel shell has heatstamp 104D and 11 row weave OD3 shade chinstraps with brass raised bar buckle. It has a couple of dents and was lightly repainted. It is adorned with a silver painted 1st Lieutenant bar. The bails are bent inwards which made impressions on the liner.
The fibre liner has cotton suspension, steel A washers and leather chinstrap with flat lever buckle. It has Lt. Kenneth Andersen AAF 3764 written in pencil on the front. It also has 'Lucky' written in pencil under the brim. This suspension of this liner is presented in my Limited Edition 2007 M-1 Helmet book on pages 77 (top photo) and in the 2010 Schiffer Edition on page 82 (top photo).
This is a nice and all complete early type officer marked M-1 helmet is that oozes experience. It is 100% original, nothing added, nothing replaced and it is presented in a book to boot! View the many photos.
