Quick Overview

McCord'fixed bail' steel shell with a type 1 fibre liner. The steel shell has heatstamp 223B and 11 row weave OD3 shade chinstraps with brass raised bar buckle.
The fibre liner is actually a General Fibre Company production as indicated by the capitol G in the dome. It has rayon suspension, rectangular steel washers and fixed leather chinstrap with square slide buckle. The chinstrap was broken and has been glued in place by someone at some point. The liner is complete with its rayon headband and neckband and is adorned with Staff Sergeant chevrons.
The helmet is ID-ed to Staff Sergeant Dunisch, ASN 39395713, who enlisted on August 31, 1942. His name is painted in the steel shell and his laundry mark is written in both the liner and steel shell. The name and full ASN make this a helmet with research potential.
This is a nice and all complete helmet is excellent condition. View the many photos.
