Quick Overview

McCord 'fixed bail' steel shell with Firestone liner (made on an Inland mold). The helmet is 100% original, nothing added, nothing replaced. The steel shell has a painted NCO bar on the back. It was done by hand and is slightly off centered with paint smudges around. The Firestone liner (type 8) has textured exterior paint, cotton suspension and green coated steel A washers. The leather chinstrap has the green coated roler buckle. The name Harris is written on the suspension and some sort of nick name 'Pope' is painted under the visor of the steel shell. The helmet saw plenty of action which is obvious from the dirt, dents and soap residue on the inside. This helmet is featured in my M-1 helmet book (pages 248 & 249 of the 2007 Limited Edition and pages 264 & 265 of the 2010 Schiffer Edition). Non Commissioned Officer marked helmets are incredibly hard to find. This is a chance to add one to your collection. In all a very nice and all complete helmet and presented in a book to boot!
