M-1 Helmet with Hood Rubber company liner, ID-ed

M-1 Helmet with Hood Rubber company liner, ID-ed

Quick Overview

McCord'fixed bail' M-1 steel shell with Hood Rubber company liner. The steel shell has its original 11 row weave OD3 chinstraps with brass raised bar buckle. The heat stamp is 176A.
The Hood Rubber company type 1 liner has the typical reenforcing disc with silver HR in the crown. It features cotton suspension, cotton headband with wire buckle and early type leather chinstrap with green coated steel flat lever buckle. The headband and neckband are broken due to tension. The liner still has its original paint and the front is marked with the name Leigl. The helmet belonged to William T. Leigl Jr., ASN 32606211, who enlisted on January 9, 1943.
To find a helmet with a Hood Rubber company liner that was actually used is pretty rare. In addition this one is ID-ed. This is an all complete 100% original helmet with uncommon liner that will make a great addition to a collection. It has been in my collection for a long time but its time for a new home.

This is a helmet from the M-1Helmet.com collection.
